Global Recognition at the Highest Level...

Global recognition at the highest level, exploring Singapore's emerging luxe scene, and The Residence becomes the perfect haven for New Zealand winter.

It's certainly been a cool New Zealand winter – with lots of snow for exciting alpine adventures further south – and in Auckland our guests have been enjoying excellent Pinot Noir amid the relaxing warmth and ambience of our lodge's stunning fireplaces.

We have also been warmed and inspired by recent reviews of our beautiful property.

When we opened St Marys Residence less than a year ago, our focus was to be benchmarked against the finest accommodation in the world. Two accolades from independent observers have reinforced we're definitely achieving that with our luxury urban experience.

In the June 2015 issue of the influential Robb Report, St Marys Residence was named as one of 'Five Beautiful New Zealand Vacation Villas' delivering an exclusive and intimate way to experience the magic of our country.

We couldn't agree more with the following appraisal from one of the planet's most respected authorities on luxury travel.

“St Marys Residence seamlessly combines the opulence of a presidential suite with the comfort of a private residence... the real 'Wow' factor comes from the abundant outdoor spaces showcasing Auckland's beautiful harbour.”

Manjit and I are also very gratified with an exclusive review by Katie Schmit from Virtuoso, the global network of personalised luxury travel planners, following her recent visit to Auckland.

Katie's summary – 'Where Ralph Lauren meets the Hamptons' – definitely reinforces our stylish design aesthetic, and highlights of her visit included a gourmet breakfast – and stunning Auckland harbour views – from atop our rooftop terrace.

Following our excellent recent coverage, Manjit and I are determined to keep improving St Marys Residence, and we recently travelled to Singapore to meet with key luxury travel planners. They all reiterated their clients' desire for unique local experiences, and that New Zealand is definitely gaining momentum as a 'must visit' destination.

Aligning with the stellar work being undertaken by the Tourism New Zealand Premium team, we're very confident St Marys Residence is a perfect fit for the high net worth market emerging throughout Asia. Experiencing essential Singapore highlights like Wolfgang Puck's The Cut restaurant and visiting a superb private villa – yours for just $28,000 per night  - further reinforced the growing importance of private residences and high-end travellers.

Singapore is definitely a truly dynamic city, but with Auckland's stunning waterfront currently hosting the Ocean Victory, a 140 metre-long Russian super yacht, it's also an exciting time to be in our home city.  If you're planning a luxury event amid Auckland's harbour city urban energy, we can entertain guests and host the perfect occasion just a stone's throw from the CBD. Please contact us if you and your clients are planning an exclusive reception, dinner party or product launch for an intimate circle of up to 40 people.

Finally, we'd like to announce we have recently established our social media presence across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, and we will be sending out invites soon. We look forward to interacting with our business partners, clients and friends of The Residence on social media. As an incentive, we're awarding a beautiful bottle of Dom Perignon to the person or company who creates the best social media posting about St Marys Residence.

We're keen to see some real creativity, so be sure to complete your entries by 10 September 2015. I look forward to reviewing your work, and as always, the judge's decision will be final.

Now that sounds pretty social to me!

Until next time...
